In 2018, I visited Barbados, Trinidad (twice), Tobago, Bogotá, Medellín, Cartagena, and Scottsdale. For some reason, I didn’t make a vision board last year, so all of these trips just sort of happened. In 2019, I plan to be more intentional about speaking things into existence and trusting that what is meant for me will be. With that, I’m manifesting travel destinations for the upcoming year.
Booked
Houston
It would be nice to catch a Rockets’ game while I’m in Houston. That, and eat some good food! This mac & cheese is from International Smoke in San Francisco, people claim everything is better in Texas…

Mexico City
My bestie and I are heading to Mexico City soon. Our current itinerary consists of taco and mezcal tastings. Please feel free to drop some recommendations in the comments.

Wanderlist
Chicago
I want to see what the #SummertimeChi hype is all about.

Thailand
Thailand has been on my list for years; I’m hoping 2019 will be the year that I finally visit. Massages on the beach, sand between my toes…I can feel it now.

South Africa
Durban, Cape Town, Johannesburg…I hope to spend a few weeks exploring South Africa. Now to figure out how to make that happen while adulting.

Amsterdam
I visited Amsterdam in 2017, and it’s been calling my name ever since. Chill vibes, nice people, pie…what’s not to like? One of my friends recently moved to Amsterdam, so now I have the perfect excuse to visit.

Greece
Can you believe I didn’t go to Greece when I was in Europe for two months? Yea, neither can I. Perhaps I’ll go island hopping before or after visiting Amsterdam.

I made my list, checked it twice, now to find some flight deals. What’s on your 2019 wanderlist?
Happy Travels,
Marissa
We have similar places on our wish list! I have always wanted to go to Greece and Amsterdam! I’ve heard they are both beautiful.
I love Amsterdam! Greece looks amazing!
I want to go to Greece too! Looks like a good list of places to visit!
I’m curious to see how many places I’m able to check off the list.
I love making a “wanderlist” every year! I had a lot of spontaneous travel in 2018, but I’m also hoping to speak more into existence. We went to Amsterdam this year (it was my second time) and I totally understand your desire to go back! I also lovelovelove Chicago and hope to get to Thailand in the near future, too! Cheers to a new year filled with travel!
Spontaneous travel can lead to the best adventures! I think the same can be said for planned travel in the new year. Happy new year and happy travels!
You have to go to Greece, it’s amazing! I visited the Greek Islands in 2016 and loved them, especially Santorini. As for me, I’ve booked a trip to Budapest in spring and I’m hoping to visit the US again next summer 🙂
Santorini is at the top of my list of Greek Islands to visit!! I’ve never been to Budapest, but I’ve heard great things. Enjoy!
I love this Wanderlist idea! I am going to make my own list up. Not going to lie, I may just use yours because this is an awesome list!
LOL. Yes, feel free to use my list for some travel inspiration!
Santorini is the place to visit in Greece. I’ve been to Mexico City and it’s wonderfuly crazy. Another of your comments suggests Budapest, I concur.
Sounds like you’ve visited a few places on my wanderlist. I’m really excited to go to Mexico City! I imagine Santorini is amazing.
I’ve been to Greece and it is amazing. Visit Mykonos and Santorini! I have Thailand coming up and I can’t wait.
Mykonos and Santorini are at the top of my list. You have a trip to Thailand coming up? How exciting!!!
I have a Paris/London trip booked and a Colorado Ski trip and Tuscany trip tentatively panned. Maybe a beach trip with the girlfriends, too! I can’t wait to hear about Mexico City, it intrigues me! Happy travels, xoxo
Loving the list of places you’re visiting in 2019! A beach trip with the girls is always a great idea. Sounds like you’ll have a year full of adventure!
It’s always fun to see where people want to travel! I’m definitely headed to NYC again this year, but other than that I’m looking at a few possibilities. 🙂
Even if I don’t visit all of the places on my wanderlist, it’s nice to dream about them 🙂 Enjoy NYC!
You give me travel goals. I so wish I could travel as much I desire to. Just not possible these days. Your wanderlist is so heart warming.
Thank you! It can be difficult to find the time to travel; I’m experiencing that challenge right now. Really hoping I can find time to squeeze in some adventures this year.
This is such a great idea! My husband and I were just talking about places we wanted to travel to this year!! All of these would be amazing!
Thanks, Kendra! I hope the new year will be filled with exciting adventures for you and your husband!
Such stellar options! If there’s one thing I wish to do more of, it’s traveling! That’s so exciting that some of these trips are booked. I would love to read about your visit to Greece when it occurs!
Sadly, it can be so hard to find time to travel. Speaking it to existence that I’ll make it to Greece at some point! When I do, I’ll definitely write about it.
Thailand and South Africa are at the top of my travel list for trips in the next couple of years, but anywhere on this list should be visited for sure!
Nice!! I’m being pretty ambitious trying to visit Thailand and South Africa in one year. We’ll see what happens.
I am so jealous of your booked trips, I have nothing planned at the moment, you will love Greece I have never been to mainland but have visited a few of the Islands
Booking trips always makes me feel better 🙂 I love having something to look forward to. I can’t wait for the day that I book a trip to Greece!!
I have Amsterdam on my list this year – I’ve never been before and live in the UK it’s so close. Thailand is also somewhere I’d love to go to. You should have a look at the Maldives. It’s pretty impressive
Amsterdam is amazing!! Ooo, the Maldives! I think that will be on my 2020 wanderlist 🙂
love this wanderlist – all those places can be easily on mine if i make a list 🙂 and maybe i will too..
Lol, you should definitely make a wanderlist! There’s something about writing things down that makes them real.
Well…mine could be Paris, Santorini, South Africa, Madrid and so many more!
What a great wanderlist! “And so many more,” that’s how I feel!
You went to some amazing places!!
Yep, 2018 was good to me!
a trip to Teotihuacan while in Mexico city to see the pyramids (and climb if you wish – I did), on the way back a stop at Our Lady of Guadalupe
Thanks for the tips! I’m nervous about the climb, but I’ll pack some good tennis shoes just in case.
Great list – looks amazing. My goal is a trip every month (at least a weekend). I have about half of them planned and need to get going on the rest!
A trip every month…I love that! Happy travels!
Hope we make as much as we can with our bucket
lists. As time flies so quickly, there’s always something
to be left out. It’s important that we did as much as we
could while taking the most out it and enjoying ourselves.
Time really does fly! It is so important to make the most of our time. That can be difficult with so many demands, but I’ll do my best to find balance this year.
I would love to be able to travel more. These are some really great choices and I hope that you get to go to each and every one of them.
Thanks, I’m keeping my fingers crossed! I hope you’re able to find more time to travel!
It’s such a great idea to make a wanderlist! I have been to most of these places, but Greece and Amsterdam are still on my list. And if you happen to be in Houston, I will send you greetings from Austin 🙂
Wow, sounds like you’ve already checked quite a few places off of your list! I should add Austin to my wanderlist. I visited a few years ago but I didn’t get to explore too much because I was in and out for a wedding.
I am sure you will love it here once you have time to explore. And I wish you a great year of traveling as well!
I can’t wait until the kids are grown up so I can have my own wanderlist. Travelling with 5 kids is expensive as heck, we manage 1 or 2 weeks a year abroad at the moment but only to places like Spain and Bulgaria due to cost.
Wow, the fact that you’re able to travel with 5 kids for 1 or 2 weeks is beyond impressive!! I imagine it’s ridiculously expensive!
Chicago tops my list! And Thailand too! Such beautiful places. Once you get there, please share the review. I can’t wait to learn from your travel experiences before I get there.
My wanderlist is pretty ambitious; we’ll see where I end up this year. I’ll be sure to share!
Can’t wait!
Add India to your list for this year !
That’s so funny that you said India because I just added it to my vision board.
I visited New York and Portugal last year with the fam. I would love to take the kids to Disneyland Paris in the summer. I would also love to visit Greece and maybe Malta. Let’s see.
I absolutely love Portugal!! Disneyland Paris sounds like a fun family trip. Paris, Greece, Malta… sounds like an exciting European adventure!
You will definitely love South Africa. It is such a beautiful country.
South Africa is really calling my name!!
Haven’t been to Greece or Mexico City yet. Both have been on my radar for the past 20 years though. Enjoy!
I hope 2019 is the year you get to visit Greece and/or Mexico City.
I have never been to any of these places, but you have made them sound and look intriguing! I think hubby’s and my “wander list” would include a return trip to Punta Cana in the Dominican Republic. We went there for my middle daughter’s destination wedding in 2013, and would like to go back some day on our own. It’s more likely we will “wander” to Colorado this fall, for my oldest daughter’s wedding!
Punta Cana sounds nice and warm right about now. What a great location for a wedding! Colorado sounds like fun, too. Happy travels!
You’ve got some great locations! Santorini is definitely a must and I hear Mykonos in the summer is unforgettable (we went in August and had just missed all the fun). Sheila and I went to Durban and Cape Town And it was one of the best trips I’ve ever taken, you’re going to love it!
I’ve got Barbados, Trinidad and Tobago coming up in a few weeks. And maybe a girls trip to Chi town in the spring. This is inspiring me to think about where else I want to go!! Colombia and Brazil have been on my list for a long time… maybe 2019 is the year!
Your pictures from Greece and South Africa were definitely travel goals. I feel like I’m trying to do a lot this year, but it could happen (?)
Sounds like you have some amazing trips booked! Are you going to Trinidad Carnival? I really hope you make it to Colombia and Brazil; I’d go back tomorrow if I could.
Now that I read this, I realize that I also need to be more intentional about my traveling.
Yes! I can’t wait to check a few places off my current wanderlist.
